The Fourth of July is coming up and there are plenty of fun ways to celebrate with kids. Holidays are difficult with a baby in the NICU, but bringing in a little festivity can make life feel a little more normal for families of preemies. If the hospital allows it, parents can brighten up their baby’s space a few red, white and blue decorations. Older siblings might like to help. You could also pick up some Independence Day-themed children’s books to read aloud to the baby.

For older kids, there are so many great red, white, and blue crafts and activities to give little ones a chance to experience something new and spark their imaginations. We’ve collected some of our favorite ideas on the Jacqui's Preemie Pride Pinterest page.

Check out our Fourth of July Fun board for activities, decorations, and of course, snacks. Because what’s a party without snacks? You can try our homemade strawberry popsicle recipe for a healthy, refreshing treat.

Wishing you all a happy Fourth of July!
