Summer is a wonderful time for outdoor family fun! Exercise combined with proper amounts of "sun time" helps the body create Vitamin D.  However, sunburns can be very painful for infants and toddlers ruining the fun.  A little prevention goes a long way.

Most commercial sunscreens protect children from UVB rays but not UVA rays. UVA rays cause skin damage but not the sunburns caused by UVB rays. Therefore sunscreens may allow children and adults to get long term cancer causing skin damage because they spend too much time in the sun. .

Many commercial sun screens contain potentially toxic chemicals that are absorbed through the skin.  Dr Josh Axe provides a lot of resource info on his website.  Here is his list of best children's sunscreen.
